With more than 14 years of success in helping media companies understand Hispanic demographic patterns and media usage trends, Cara O’Flynn announces the launch of Perspectiva Research, LLC. This media research consultancy, based in New York City, is dedicated to using data to make sure that clients’ strategies are aligned with current trends.
“With a young, bicultural, and tech-savvy generation of US-born Hispanics moving into the 18-24 demographic, it’s essential for Hispanic-targeted media companies to understand the dramatic changes in audience behavior that have taken place over the last few years. With bilingualism on the rise, as well as access to cable channels and new technology, Hispanic viewing is becoming more and more fragmented. All businesses looking to grow need to understand this complex segment,” says O’Flynn.
O’Flynn’s goal is to help companies navigate the shifts in media habits sparked by the confluence of Hispanic generational changes and new technology. She has worked directly for Univision, Azteca America, and Siboney, and spent over 10 years as a consultant with Franco Research Group, where her clients included MTV Tr3s, the Cable Advertising Bureau, Comcast Spotlight, Discovery en Español, V-me, GolTV, and numerous others. O’Flynn uses reporting skills to synthesize information and present it clearly and succinctly for clients. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New York Post, and other publications.
“Working with Cara felt effortless. She is easy to get along with, knowledgeable about the Hispanic market, and proactive: I could give her a few words of direction and what I got back was amazing. In the more than 3 years she worked with Tr3s, she brought an unbiased voice that really helped our business,” says Nancy Tellet, SVP of Research and Consumer Insights for MTV Tr3s and MTV Latin America.
O’Flynn has expertise in Nielsen systems and methodology, as well as vast experience in programming, ad sales, and distribution research. The company will offer these services, as well as market research, strategic consultation, white papers, and other quantitative research analysis.
