Brownsville Bred’s Elaine Del Valle Wins HOLA Award

Congratulations to Elaine Del Valle, a winner for OUTSTANDING SOLO PERFORMANCE for the Off Broadway run (at 59E59 Theaters) of her autobiographical one woman play, BROWNSVILLE BRED (directed by Pamela Moller Kareman and produced by Theatre 808 and The Schoolhouse Theatre).
Amongst other honorees, Elaine will accept her award at the13th Annual HOLA Awards Gala and Benefit sponsored in part by CBS and the NYC Latin Media & Entertainment Commission created by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. The gala is an official event of NYC’s Latin Media & Entertainment week and will be held on Monday, October 8th, 2012 at Battery Park Gardens in Battery Park, NY.
Del Valle resumes special performances of her true Latina’s coming of age dramatic comedy, BROWNSVILLE BRED this fall, as part of the Hispanic Heritage celebrations at Ithaca College, Passaic Community College and Mohawk Valley College.
Amping up the volume on Del Valle is this Thursdays (8/18/12) HBO International Latino Film Festival New York premiere of indie film, ELLIOT LOVES (directed by Gary Terracino). The film, already sold for distribution, has her in a strong supporting role as the sassy Aunt Carmen and has critics calling her a “Latina Spitfire” whose role is “beautifully realized.”
This all comes on the heels of numerous bookings this summer including one in which Elaine plays Sophia Vergara’s sister, as the co host of the CIELO LATINO AIDS Benefit (alongside NBC anchor Tom Llamas), and on MTV’s new scripted comedy “EPIC FAIL” premiering this fall.
