Michelle Rodriguez has etched out a reputation for herself in Hollywood as the ultimate tough girl, but the 34-year-old actress is honest about the fact that she’s had it with Hollywood, telling Cosmopolitan for Latinas that she’s ready to take a break from acting.

“The truth is I’m about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera. I got into this business to write,” Rodriguez told the magazine. “I’ve waited 13 years to actually do it. You know how painful that is? It’s very painful. But like now I’m ready, so that means I have to do the cutoff. I’ll go into the mountains, and bye-bye everybody. Well, I’m a Cancer so…it’s in my nature to hide.”

The actress — whose newest film “Fast & Furious 6” hits theaters next month — also shared that she’s come to terms with her troubled past, revealing that she’s ready move on.

“I had some bad moments. I partied hard. The world knew it. I feel like my growth is a progression. It’s like you’re about to fly out and head to Ibiza another year in a row and your gut’s telling you, ‘no, stay home and write,’” Rodriguez told Cosmopolitan for Latinas. As the mag’s cover model for its 2013 issue, the actress shared, “I go forward,  and I’ve had times when I go back. Just last year I had a time where I had a bad stretch. I rebel against everything, including myself. I’m like, ‘oh no, lemme do something f*cked up now.’ But then I’m like, ‘okay, what am I doing to myself.’”

Clad in a curve-hugging neon green dress, Rodriguez also spoke out about style, love and how she owes her fame to the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

On the response she gets from Latin folks about the Fast & Furious franchise:

“Fast & Furious definitely comes up first for Latin folks I meet at the airport. They can relate because there are a lot of blue-collar individuals that feel like outsiders just by being in this country. It makes you think that living on the other side of the tracks is just a better option.”

On her casual style:

“I can make anything sexy. I’ll wear a leather jacket and nothing underneath!”

On her type of guy:

“I’m attracted to manly men. I can’t do metrosexuals who get their nails done more than me. Which is why, living in L.A. for eight years, you can’t blame me for not having a partner!”
