Demi Lovato is about to show fans an entirely different side of her on the upcoming season of “Glee” in her guest role as Naya Rivera’s love interest.
“She’s playing my love interest, so I’m very, very excited about it,” Rivera shared in an interview with MTV at the 2013 VMAs Sunday. “We get to sing a song together. It’s gonna be good. I’m excited to work with her.”
And it won’t be just any old tune, Rivera revealed. The brunette twosome will be featured in a Beatles episode, Rivera said.
“We’re bringing her to the dark side,” the 26-year-old singer said. “[We’re singing] a Beatles song. I’m excited.”
“At this point all we can confirm is that Demi Lovato plays Dani a, NYC-based struggling artist friend of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana’s. Viewers will have to watch her character’s storyline develop when episodes air,” Lovato’s rep told E! News.
Lovato’s character – whose name has yet to be made public – is intended to replace pregnant cast member Heather Morris, who played Brittany, Rivera’s long-time love interest.
